Antares

On Friday, I took my love out to dinner at the Antares (atop the Reunion Tower in Dallas) to do something a little different. I also felt that it didn't require a special occasion to take my baby out to a nice dinner. It's a very pleasant, rotating restaurant that gives you a good view of Dallas, even if you live there. It was my first time, as well as his, to have eaten there, and we had a great experience. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful, and the food was marvelous. I remember thinking the appetizer prices were really decent for this kind of place, and then we got our appetizer (duck quesadillas), and that's when I realized maybe it wasn't that great of a value. For $7 dollars (I think) we got 2 tiny little quesadillas, both less than half the size of a regular tortilla, and about half an inch thick, if even. They were good, but it was barely enough of a bite to tell if they were THAT good or not. Our meals were both more than enough food, even though the way they were served made it look like much less food. The wine was nice, even though we didn't buy a whole bottle. It's always hard for me to finish any glass of wine, no matter how good it is. Dessert was really good, too... and I had my first piece of starfruit We both enjoyed our selections... I would come back and have my plate again, but, I wouldn't want to spend that much for dinner that often, even if I had gobs of money to spend.
