A really good search that lets you look up all kinds of crap on people... if you're lucky you might even find a recent picture of them on there, too!

Office Pet Peeve

Being out of an office environment for so long, I forgot all the pet peeves that come with it. The only thing that really bothers me in an office is the women that talk really loud and sound super fake and enthusiastic about the stupidest crap. It always sounds like they're trying to impress people around them with their overbearing positive attitude and it almost seems kiss-assish (not a word I know). Okay.. so I sound like a totally critical and negative person by coming down on a "positive" person... but it's *still* annoying. It's so... unnatural to talk like that. Hearing them say things like "Oooh, REAALLLY" in a beaming voice as if they really care what you're talking about. Back when I worked at my last place, I dealt with that a lot less... mainly because I was in a glass cage (well a network operations center to be exact) and there aren't office women wandering around there. It was nice and quiet... and hardly any people around to annoy you.

WEBCAM

Welp... I may be in luck again. Even though I might not be working where I am very long... I've been able to hook up my webcam up here.. so once again I might have a work cam. I don't think I'll have it refresh so quick this time though. It used to be a 3-5 second refresh as it was a small image.. but this time I'll do a typical larger image. Sorry if my "cubicle" doesn't look so spiffy... I still am a temp and feel like a temp, so decorating it seems a little too much.

Holy Weirdness

Two days ago I started downloading a few classical violin solos performed by Isaac Stern, and then suddenly today, I find out that he just passed away. Creepy.

American Flags

Chris had a wonderful idea that I thought I should mention... in case some of you might not have thought of it yet. I'm sure many people have already come up with it anyway. For those of you who have bought flags or are going to buy some during this time of tragedy and chaos, what you should do is hang onto that flag and keep it as a momento on top of all your newspaper clippings or whatnot... as something to hand down to your children and grandchildren. I assume most of my visitors are still young people, and probably have nothing much from history to pass down to your kids... and although the flag from this event would not have symbolized a great time in our history, it is at least some sort of marker and show of pride that we had. It would have been nice if I had something from my grandparents during any of the world wars, or even the Vietnam war, but I have nothing like that... so I want to start that with my own family. Anyway.. just a thought.

Will people f*ing quit trying to find "hidden" meanings in what happened on Tuesday?

:( The NY sector of the company I'm currently working for was apparently affected by the attack ... they had employees in the World Trade Center and Pentagon both.

Just to clear something up about my opinion, I am not pointing fingers at any particular group of people, but I do believe those that were directly responsible deserve to be brought to justice. Nuking a whole country isn't a very realistic or effective way of resolving this. It could only make things get even worse. I said "NUKE THEM" because it was the first angry thought that came to my head...

I don't think Americans should be targeting Arab-Americans or any specific religious groups just because the hijackers happened to be of the same people. Just because their Arab doesn't mean they feel the same way as any other Arab. Let's say that for some odd reason, Germans were the ones who committed these terrorist acts... would all of us Americans start hunting down all the German businesses and people and harass them, too? Are we going to see people writing posts called "DEPORT ALL GERMANS"? For some reason, I don't think we would. Why? Because we've got a double standard. Arabs are a minority in this country, so it's a lot easier to pick on them. On the other hand, Germans and other Europeans are still a majority, therefore you will not likely see a similar reaction. It's always easier to pick on the little guys.

Those people that are all about threatening Arabs that are living in America should grow the fuck up. Don't let your anger become so irrational that you take justice into your own hands. Let the government figure that all out. As Americans we have to be extremely wary of our actions and reactions. We don't need to make ourselves look worse. So what if we haven't already retaliated... wouldn't you rather the US talk it out with the UN to find out what the rest of the world feels is reasonable action?

Still recovering from the shock, there are still not enough words that can describe how I or anyone in this country feels. I was watching live as they were first showing the wreckage from the first tower and only thought it was an accident. And just as I was only thinking it was just an accident, I was chilled to the bone as I saw a second plane head straight on into the second tower. I felt so pained, weak and nauseated. I could not hold back the tears, and for a moment I felt irrational for crying... but realized I was probably not alone.

After hearing about the Pentagon, that's when I feel a dark, cold, impending-doom feeling. I thought... "it's all over"... When I thought of all the firefighters who courageously went into the towers to try saving people only to be devoured by the collapsing structures, my heart broke as I thought of Chris; for if he had stayed in the firefighting field, his life's destiny could have simply taken him to NYC, and I don't even want to imagine what could have happened.

I have no idea who to point the finger at *(even though the Palistinian people who were celebrating this event don't look very innocent)*, but even though the OKC bombing turned out being related to your every day American boy, this does not at all sound like something a radical US group would concoct. Whoever ends up being responsible for this, I hope they pay dearly with their lives. Right now, I hope the rest of the world realizes it's better to be an ally of the US than our enemy. We will get our revenge, and we will not do it like the faceless cowards from yesterday.

I have never felt such patriotism, pride, and clarity of thought. I realize now that there is so much more to life than the petty things I've worried about. I think all of us who can comprehend what has happened will in some way be changed inside forever. Now, in a way, I can understand why one would fight & die for their country. Even though I am anti-war/aggressive action, I believe that is the only method that can justify yesterday's events.

No matter how many times I keep seeing the events replayed, I still get shocked when more and more of the reality sinks in. I cannot believe I was alive to experience this.

I am seriously angry and I want the innocent casualties of war to be avenged. Frankly, I think we should blast whoever is responsible right off the face of this earth. God bless the rest of us.

I can't fucking believe what's happening. 2 planes crashing into the two World Trade Center buildings in NY, and then another plane crashed into the Pentagon. I actually saw the 2nd plane in NY crash LIVE. I instantly bursted into tears.

Think you're good enough to distinguish between someone who's Japanese, Chinese, or Korean? Try this test (click on where it says "Take the Test") and see how good you are. I think I am most ashamed to say my score was a lowly 6 out of 12. boohoo

Look @ This... First of all... why would anyone work for $0 - $120.00 per year, and secondly, how could you trust a recruitment place that can't even spell "supplement", "their", and "experience" correctly?

Sorry... preoccupied! Haven't been surfing much... been working on the house, playing Black & White (thanks to influences by MRS. Amy Brown and Julie :P), and shopping. Though there are many things on my mind I could easily write a long entry about... right now I just don't have the desire to type it all out. Tata for now!
