I found a pretty one-of-a-kind site called Empty Bowl that informally puts both generic and name brand cereals to the test. They have fairly in-depth reviews and even a feature where they talk about how two different cereals tastes. It's pretty interesting if you're really into your breakfast meal.

WOO HOO!!!! I can't wait for the new Sims expansion pack: House Party! It sounds pretty awesome... more interactions, more objects, new music and dance moves... gosh, I am such a game junkie sometimes. It's either The Sims or Everquest... simulation game or role-playing game. Are other RPG or Sim fans the same way? Do they usually end up liking the same combination of game types?

If you're curious as to how much radiation your cellphone gives off, compare it against this chart which covers many popular cellular phone models and gives you their radiation rating. You can also read this article for more information about cellphone radiation levels. Then take a look at the highest radiation and lowest radiation level phones. My phone was somewhere in the middle.

For those of you who suddenly have the urge to start writing and speaking like masters of the English language, I recommend the Dictionary of Difficult Words. Then, you can start to sound more like Helen Razer of Feline Transfer Protocol or her alter-ego (I think) Allegra Plinth. I doubt she has to use that dictionary, but I did catch myself having to refer to it a few times to decipher some of her more complex words.

Are You Coulrophobic?
You might ask, what does coulrophobic mean? Coulrophobia is basically the proper term for the fear of clowns. I, like most people, am afraid of clowns. Yes, those freaky, smiling, evil looking bastards that are supposed to make children laugh, not cry!
I don't know all about the history of clowns, but I do know that a few movies and one book have played a big role in feeding into my phobia. A book by Stephen King called "IT" (which so happens to be one of my favorite books) is about a very evil creature who lurks around as a clown and kills children. There was a scene in Poltergeist where little Robby gets attacked by a freaky clown that was sitting on a chair at the end of his bed. That scene always made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack. Blah! Well, if you need a place to share your fear of clowns... IHateClowns.com and are great places to start.

Everquest Lawsuit?
A nice chunk of Everquest players are filing a class action lawsuit against Sony Interactive over their virtual ownership rights. For me, this is a tough issue to side with. I can understand why some people get fed up with how the game is engineered to take so much time to get items that you would rather buy them online. However, I can see how it is wrong to be making money off of virtual property that isn't really yours to sell. In a way, it's like using pieces of a copyrighted song in a song that you create and selling it without paying anything extra for the parts of the song that weren't yours to begin with. *shrug*

Don't you just love it when you hear a song that makes you feel like you're tripping without really tripping? I had the pleasure of that tonight when I finally saw Traffic. It was the hip electronic music in the scene where Javier and Manolo were at some club/bar where they were going to capture "Franky Flowers" for General Salazar. The part that got my mind traveling was when Javier was up at the bar with Franky and lit up his cigarette or something...the music intensifies for a moment, and the filming seemed to slow down just right... The music went well with that scene for some reason. I found out that it's a piece by the ever-brilliant Fatboy Slim called Give the Po' Man a Break. I like everything but the vocal stuff, never been much into vocals unless it's a song by Lords of Acid or a Motown classic.

Wedding Wishes
My fantasy for a long time was to have a daytime wedding outside or inside an old, well-kept Irish or Scottish castle hidden among beautifully dense, green hills covered with a light mist of fog, and just a hint of sun shining through. In the background, you could hear the magical sounds of medievel instruments playing festive folk music and romantic tunes (a hired band of folk musicians of course). Everyone would feel as though they were in a mystical land, and the whole feeling of the place would be overwhelming -- maybe just to me. Then of course the wedding ceremony begins and everything goes the way it normally does... and we live happily ever after. I know how unrealistic and gay that all sounded, but hey, I can still dream, can't I?
I always wanted the dress to go along with that scenario, but had trouble finding them in the traditional wedding dress stores I went into. I've already bought a wedding dress, but it didn't stop me from looking for a different one. Tonight, I found this:

... and that's the closest I have found that matches my wedding fantasy dress, plus the price is actually very decent. If I get married in a normal church, would it be crazy to wear that? *ponders*

Names for my future children
Being an indecisive person, I know it's going to be a very difficult task coming up with my children's names. I never wanted to be too typical, but I didn't want them to have really odd names (like mine) either. I always wanted to be able to pick their name from a fantasy book, but I have yet to find a satisfying name from one. Here are some names I've considered:
Girls:
Jennifer Katherine Adrianna Marie Kelly Anne Brianne Angela Lynn Nicole Brenda Marie Kianna Taylor
Boys:
Austin Christopher (#1 Choice) David Christopher Andrew Christopher Nathan Christopher Justin Christopher Ian Christopher
That's all I could think of for now. Oh well, I'm sure I have a few more years to worry about it, but I can't keep procrastinating. :)

For those of you who would like to see the "l33tist" of the bloggers out there... Nikolai of Fairvue has finally produced the finalists for the 2001 Weblog Awards. Of course, you will not find amateur sites like mine on there. The weblogs you will see are those of the "elite inner circle of webloggers" as I like to call it. They are generally well designed sites with delicious, creme-filled blogs that are nice to look at and seem to all link to each other somehow or another. To be honest, I don't read most of them, but I think I saw like one or two finalists whose sites I visit every now and then. So if you don't mind being totally blown away by intimidating bloggers and voting on them... come hither.

I'm wondering... is it psychotic for someone to listen to certain songs over and over again and not be bothered by it? I was curious because I know that sometimes when I'm alone, there are certain songs I'm in the mood to listen to, and I have them on a constant loop, and I don't seem to mind. I never do it around other people, even my family or Chris. Hopefully it doesn't mean I'm crazy. I don't know anyone else that does it, or has ever said they do it.
Songs I have had on continuous loops at one time or another (and don't laugh!):
Olivia Newton-John - Magic Duran Duran - New Moon on Monday Duran Duran - Save a Prayer Lords of Acid - Wet Dream (I love blasting it in the car) Radiohead - Blow Out Radiohead - Paranoid Android Luther Vandross - Always & Forever Somewhere in Time, Misty, Stardust, and Tenderly played by Garry Schnitzer Antonin Dvorak's Slavonic Dances Opus 72 No. 2 in E Minor (memories of orchestra in junior high) Jodeci - Lately Air (The Virgin Suicides soundtrack) - Clouds Up Air (The Virgin Suicides soundtrack) - Dirty Trip George Michael - I Can't Make You Love Me Sarah MacLachlan - When She Loved Me The Platters - Smoke Gets in Your Eyes Peaches & Herb - Reunited Babyface - Everytime I Close My Eyes Al Green - Let's Stay Together Celtic Garden - Yellow Lily The Neverending Story Soundtrack - Theme of Sadness and Ruined Landscape The Violin Solo from Schindler's List Donny Hathaway - This Christmas Enya - Bard Dance Marvin Gaye - Let's Get it on Supreme Beings of Leisure - Strangelove Addiction Loreena McKennitt - Snow and many many countless other songs ...
You know...I realize this list could go on forever. I've gone through so many phases with different songs. I might as well have listed all of my favorite songs -- this list isn't even half of it -- but NAH... I'm too lazy, and I'm sure no one really cares anyway. I doubt there is a single person out there who happens to like all of these songs as much as I do or in the same way. Everyone has different taste in music, and I'm sure not everyone likes only one certain kind of music. I'm pretty diverse when it comes to music...for the most part. The main reason I like certain songs is because they make my mind travel, or bring back certain feelings and thoughts in my mind that I still cherish.

One of the scariest things that's ever happened to me
To some people, this may be no big deal and you may just think I'm paranoid. You could be right, but I still have my fears...
For those that don't know, I live in a house that's right on the lake.. meaning the lake is my backyard and we can easily go boating, skiing or whatever. Living on the lake has it's pros and cons... one of the cons being that lots of freaky things have been known to happen in areas like that. You'll see lots of stray animals that people have cold-heartedly dumped out there... you'll hear of rumors about what goes on in some of the scarier looking houses... it's just creepy altogether unless you just aren't paranoid like me.
And before you can say anything... I AM NOT... I repeat I AM NOT.. RACIST in anyway. Heck, I'm a minority myself.. just because I mention other races, doesn't mean anything against them. They are what they are.
One evening last summer (2000), I drove not even a mile away from my house to a convenience store nearby and brought my dog Eddie along. I was wearing a medium length black velvet skirt with a black long-sleeved top (nothing too provocative, but for some reason caught some people's attention), and I got out of the car and as I walked in, a truck full of white guys wolf whistled at me, and I just ignored it walked past them. As I was entering the store, a hispanic guy about my height was leaving and left the door open for me and I walked through. I had to wait in line a while, so I looked around the store and looked outside and noticed that the hispanic guy I walked by was in his car still and hadn't left the parking lot. I didn't think much of it and finally got to the counter and bought a pack of cigarettes, and then proceeded to leave. Again, I noticed that guy was still in his car. It was an older looking car, faded blue and looked like an old Plymouth Reliant or something -- just a boxy car. I got into my car, and he started his car, and started backing out. Then he stopped at the gas pump as though he was going to pull onto the road from there.. I signaled with my hand to have him go ahead and get on the road, just to be nice. He didn't respond.. and his car just sat there.. so I signaled again... and he still didn't go. So I went ahead and backed out and got onto the road. Suddenly, I noticed that he began to pull onto the road right after me, too. I thought maybe he was just being nice and letting me go first, so I figured it was nothing. However, the reason why I was worried was because you never know what kinda freaks are out here.
You see, I live in a very discreet area, and it's rather difficult to find and there are lots of windy roads in that area. There is hardly ever traffic and hardly anyone ever behind my car, but of the cars that do end up behind you, many of them are neighbors. There are only so many houses along that stretch of the lake. The car was still behind me and I began to feel extremely uncomfortable, and I had to make a quick decision. My house was only 2 streets down, so instead of possibly showing a stranger where I live, I quickly turned into the street right before mine which is a dead end and only has a few houses in it. The car from the convenience store behind me turned into it, too!!! It didn't look like a car that would belong on that street, so at that point my heart was racing and I felt panic set in. I made a circle and drove out of the dead end street and saw that the car was still following me. As this was going on I still tried to think positive and assumed that maybe the guy was just lost and trying to find his way out of these confusing streets, but deep down inside, I felt this incredible fear that I was being followed to my home. I got onto the main road again and deliberately drove past my street. The main road I was on was a very long and windy road that leads has only a handful of private streets to a few other lake homes so I was hoping that if he coincidentally lived off this same road, he'd eventually turn sometime. Then I realized if he followed me all the way to the closest freeway, that he probably didn't live around here. Sure enough I kept driving and he was still behind me... in my mind, I was wishing so hard that I had gone the other direction when I left the convenience store parking lot; there was a police station right by there. In order for me to now get to that police station I would have to drive quite a while to make a big circle around the lake and freeway to get there.

I was still on the main road... still checking behind me and still seeing his headlights.. hoping he'd turn into some other street soon.. but he steadily drove behind me. I then came upon a part of the main road that was particularly curvy and that's when I told myself that this is where I need to drive fast and lose him. Someone that lives around there would know those curves pretty well (and I do), and so I began to accelerate quickly, and when I had last glanced back at him I saw that he was driving awkwardly slow. Believe me, it's not a very friendly road if it's your first time on it. You have to drive around 20mph to be comfortable with all the curves, if even that.
The freeway was now visible, and I hauled ass towards it like my life depended on it (and who knows if that was really the situation), and got on the service road and went under the bridge. I couldn't see his car anymore and carefully drove myself back home to tell Chris. We drove up to the convenience store and told the ladies up there. I asked them if they knew that guy, but they didn't remember him too well with all the faces they have to deal with everyday. I had never been so deathly afraid in my life--imagine being followed when you're out in a desolate lake area. I was so glad I brought my little dog along. I wouldn't have wanted to be alone when this happened.
To this day, I still wonder what was really going on... many questions float around in my mind...
- IF he really wasn't following me, why would he turn onto a dead end street when I did and leave when I did? - Why didn't he leave the convenience store parking lot immediately? He didn't seem to be having any car problems or anything that could have been stalling him. - If I had turned onto my street, would he have followed me there too? - If he had followed me to my house, what would have happened then? - Who the hell was he? - Why would he happen to need to drive on that long confusing main road if he didn't even live in any of the nearby houses? - Has he ever done this before? - What if I had brought Chris along...would he still be behind my car? - What if.. what if.. what if?!?!?
Sometimes I just can't wait to move back to civilization...

Hrmph.. I lost this post earlier so now I have to do it again.
I don't consider myself a negative person, but like most human beings, there are things in this world that I *hate*, even though that is a pretty harsh word to use. I-Hate-It.com allows you to vote on things that other people hate as well as adding your own items and categories. I added the Pepsi Girl to the Actors I Hate the Most List. I feel pretty mean for being annoyed with an innocent little child... but then again, I am not alone.
In a way I feel sad for Pepsi Girl (Hallie Kate Eisenberg)... Can you imagine growing up and having done commercials and acting and then finding out that there were lots of people out there that didn't even know you but said they hated you or were annoyed with you? I'd be devastated, almost to the point where I wouldn't want to be seen in public, or even change my name legally. I'm sure she's a sweetheart in real life and isn't what she portrays on TV (an annoying little girl lip-syncing Aretha Franklin in a Pepsi commercial), and she'll probably grow up to be a decent normal girl. I just hope she doesn't get type-casted and forever remain that pesty little Pepsi girl in our minds.
One more thing... can you imagine what it must feel like to be the number one most annoying thing of 2000?

I wish our new President Bush didn't have to be associated with being "dumb" and "hickish"... Not all of Texas is like that.. we don't all wear 10 gallon hats and snakeskin boots. Most of us are suburbanites that wear average looking clothes, and are decently educated. I'd say maybe only 30% of Texans are truly hickish around here. Bush does NOT seem like a hick... just because he came from Texas, doesn't mean he needs to be portrayed as a cowpoke.

OoOOoooOoo Lords of Acid still turns me on. I'm listening to some right now. My personal all-time favorite LoA songs...(and by the way, I do own all their CD's except for the one you can only buy online).
Wet Dream (Lust) Young Boys (Voodoo-U) Voodoo-U (Voodoo-U) Spank My Booty (Our Little Secret) Rubber Doll (Our Little Secret) Mr. Machoman (Voodoo-U) Pussy (Our Little Secret) Drink My Honey (Voodoo-U) You Belong to Me (Lust)
Yes, I did notice a lot of the song titles have sexual undertones.. but that's the kind of music it is. It's what I call "sex techno".. it's got just the right amount of raunch without totally grossing you out, plus it's got some hip beats and sometimes the songs are hilarious. If you can tolerate that kind of music, it should bring out the wild animal in you.

Today, I played Everquest all morning. We were a bubble and a half away from 53, and had only a TINY little sliver left when I had to leave for work. Sure, I could have really pushed it and risked being a little late to work.. but I don't like coming in there even a few minutes after.
You'll notice a lot of people staying up really late in the morning or playing until they have to leave for work just trying to get to the next level. I myself have been guilty of not being able to go to sleep until I get to the next level. There are so many common behaviors of EQ addicts, it's rather cute.

When I first saw this article on the local TV news, I nearly cried. It was about a little Beagle-Daschshund puppy about 8 months old who was taken away from his owners and found his way home despite the fact that whoever had him gouged his eyes out. They showed a picture of him before it happened and he looked like the sweetest, most innocent dog you ever saw. He had big round eyes and looked really mellow and loving. Why would someone do something like this? I am so upset that there are people in this world that would hurt an animal that doesn't even seem capable of endangering a human. I hope whoever did this rots in hell... I don't think I've ever said that before, but since it affects me so much, I had to. Fox 4 News has some more more to this story in their News section | Top Stories. There is a growing reward fund currently over $21,000 for information leading to the people who did this injustice to a young, helpless puppy.

Rosalyn Rants Back when I used to chat on online services in '94 (INN, AOL, Compuserve), I didn't have a scanner, so I didn't have a picture online...I would talk to a guy, and I'd describe myself (15/f/tx brown hair brown eyes) and then sometimes I'd tell them I was Asian since they might have assumed I was a white girl from that description. Then my biggest pet peeve is when they'd reply with something like, "I think Asian women are so beautiful...do you want to cyber/hotchat?"... feeling instantly categorized, I'd be so annoyed I'd just make up an excuse to go and then logoff. Ok, I know it's better they say something like that than assuming I was ugly, but man... it seems like a lame line that some guys use because they think Asian girls would buy it! Think about it...here's a hypothetical situation:
Pretend you are good looking girl who happened to be Asian and you were chatting online and you somehow mentioned to a guy you were speaking with that you were Asian and he told you he thought Asian women were sOooOo beautiful and started kissing your ass...let's say you end up sending him your picture or meeting him in person and he ended up really liking how you look. Would you feel that part of the reason he liked your looks was because you were Asian? Or would it be that he truly thought you were good looking and it had nothing to do with your ethnicity? My fiance agrees... it would suck to be given credit for your looks before someone actually sees you, especially when they're just going by a generalization. I mean, what if you were a fugly Asian (and yes, that happens in ALL races)? Wouldn't that stress you out that someone out there automatically expects you're probably good looking just because of your race? What pressure! My advice... don't chat with guys like that, two, don't get yourself in a situation like that, and three, stand up for yourself if you need to.. don't let yourself get labeled like that!
My best experiences came from not disclosing my ethnic makeup and letting people figure it out for themselves if they cared. I know there are some guys out there with things for Asian chicks... I just want them to realize not all Asian girls are the same. We're as diverse as white girls, even though most of us have the same hair/skin/eye coloring... but we still have our own personalities and we are not objects or dolls to play with.
[ end of rant ]

Random Peeves :: A few things that just make me cringe
- Guy friends that act like they're your "fallback" boyfriend...meaning...they act as though the moment you break up with who you're with, you're going to automatically want to go out with them JUST because they're a guy, they're your friend, and they've always been nice to you.
- Guys that act like they could steal you away from your man or at least try to get your attention for a moment.
- Technical support customers who automatically deny that their brand new computer with a PoS software modem included could be the cause of disconnects and laggy connections.
- When you pass someone that's been driving WAY TOO SLOW, and then as soon as you try to pass them they suddenly start speeding up as though they've been driving fast the whole time.
- People who let their kids go out in public looking like stray animals. At least make your kids wash their hands and faces before bringing them to a place where other people are.
- Students who only work hard enough to PASS. Come on, God gave us all brains.. USE THEM!
- Braggarts - Guys or girls that seem to go through so many girlfriends/boyfriends and seem not to have any sense of commitment. I couldn't imagine starting a relationship with a guy knowing that we'll probably break up. That's just asking for failure! I don't think people should get into relationships just because they think they need to be in one.
- It might just be a thing around here, but I can't stand it when people at a car wash PEEL OUT right after they just finished washing and drying their car, making dirt fly all over their car and nearby cars.
- Computer novices that don't lift a finger to help themselves.

Boy...low light sensitivity REALLY makes a difference in a webcam:
The Logitech QuickCam Express (around $40) with no other lights on except for the computer monitor and TV on in the background.

The 3Com HomeConnect PC Digital Camera (around $130) with no other lights on except for the computer monitor and TV on in the background.

Know any other cameras with good low light sensitivity? Let me know!

There are lots of links in my archives that I feel are worthy of being mentioned again... maybe I'll call that a "blogdump"... Night!

$15,000 Credit Line?!?!? Wow!
Yeah, right. It's hard to believe that someone like me who has horrible credit would ever be offered even a miniscule $50 credit line, let alone a $15,000 one. Today, I received this letter in snail mail from a company called First National Credit and after reading the letter, you could tell there was just something that wasn't right. I wasn't about to send some company (not even listed as a bank) $37 or $43 and hope to be sent a "Gold card" that wasn't even associated with Visa or Mastercard. Here's a little sneaky quote from that letter:
You may use your gold card immediately upon receipt for all purchases from credit provider.
Now, who the heck is the credit provider? Or, what does that sentence mean? I think it's just a scam to make you buy stuff from a piece of crap catalog or to send them money and get nothing back in return.
I decided to do a bit of research on the net about it. I couldn't find much in newsgroups, so I just did a general web search. I then discovered this discussion board on Eyeoncredit.com and found several recent posts about these mailing. They also have a page on Credit Company Warnings which shows you how the letter looks... and it does seem to be come under different company names.. how evil!
Anyway, I know none of you are stupid enough to fall for a scam like this, but I just wanted you to know how I wasted about 5 minutes of my day today. :)

Well.. it's my weekend again finally. On Saturday I am going to see my mom and my little sisters in Dallas.. it's been weeks since I've seen them.
I am also hoping to go to my friend Will's birthday party this Sunday. I'm going to be working that day, but probably take a long lunch. He has this thing for Vietnamese food at this one place where he's going to celebrate... it's kinda funny since he's a white guy.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good weekend! Knowing me, I'll be spending all my spare time on the computer making final touches on some demo pages for some web design positions I am going for. Wish me luck. =-)

You're an 80's child if...
- You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members. - You wanted to be on StarSearch. (Come on, we all did) - You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off. Or even when he had those freaky eyes in "Thriller" at the end of the video. - You wore a banana clip or one of those slap on wrist bands at some point during your youth. - You wore french rolls on the botom of your splatter painted jeans. - You had slouch socks, and puff painted your own shirt at least once. - You owned a doll with 'Xavier Roberts' signed on it's butt. - You knew what Willis was "talkin' 'bout." - You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off." - You can name at least half of the members of the elite "Brat Pack." - You can remeber watching full house and saved by the bell for endless hours. - You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle Rock. - You know that another name for a keyboard is a "Synthesizer." - You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future." - You know where to go if you "wanna go where everybody knows your name." - You thought Molly Ringwald was REALLY cool. (Was there an 80's movie she WASN'T in?) - You know what "Sike" means. - You fell victim to 80's fashion: big hair, crimped, combed over to the side, and you wore spandex pants - You wanted to be a Goonie ("Goonies never say die.") - You've heard of Garbage Pail Kids. - You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince." - You actually saw Ted Danson as the MacDaddy he played "Sam" to be. - You ever wore flourescent -neon if you will clothing...(or nailpolish)
- You could breakdance, or wished you could. - You know who Max Headroom is. - You remember when ATARI2 was a state of the art video game system. (Remember Pong) - You know all the words to "ice ice baby". - You remember M.C hammer. - You can still sing the rap to "fresh Prince of BelAir". - You own any cassettes. - You were led to believe that in the year 2000 we'd all be living on the moon. - You remember and/or own any of the CareBear Glass collection from Pizza Hut. - Poltergeist freaked you out. - You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins or an ET lunchbox. - You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf. - You wanted to communicate with some being named Cinergy, or you wanted green hair like that lead singer of the Misfits. - You know what a Doozer is. - You wore biker shorts underneath a short skirt and felt stylish. - You ever had a Swatch Watch. - You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the care-bear stare. - You had a crush on one of the Coreys (Haim or Feldman). - You remember when Saturday Night Live was funny. - You had WonderWoman or Superman underoos. - You wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween. - You Believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power!" - You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye. - You know what a "Whammee" is. ("No Whammy, no whammy, stop!!") - Partying "like it's 1999" seemed SO far away.
- You thought you could freeze time with your two index fingers (Out of this World) My sister Michelle reminded me about this one :)

I've been thinking a lot lately about saving up to purchase a nice digital camera, and I've been mainly asking friends for suggestions and personal opinions. Today, I checked out a site called Megapixel.net that I found extremely informational and nicely organized. It covers a wide variety of digital camera topics as well as reviews and a glossary. You can even find articles about time/date stamp technology related to digital cameras. All of the reviews I ran into also had test photos, which really help you figure out whether or not you want to buy the camera. It's a pretty useful site... I recommend it!

Today already seems like a busy day. I'm having to mess with things in Solaris that I've never had to do before so it looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time for that.
Also, lately I've been spending most of my time at Computerjobs.com, trying to take a peek at what's in store after I get kicked outta here. I haven't had much time to do normal surfing since job hunting always gets me into this mode where all I want to do is work on my resume or work on new skills.
As far as the website, I really don't know what to add right now.. any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. I've got designer's block, if you want to call it that, but it's probably only temporary.
Anyway, gotta go back to work... lots of stuff to do right now.

It's hard to make a trip to the mall or retail store without running into one or more of those annoying singing bass. Now they even have other singing creatures... blech. I think Chris has pressed the button on a bunch of them once and they all started singing -- it was hilarious, but at the same time made me even more disgusted with them. I don't want to dog the people who made them because they're a really sweet happy looking couple from a nearby suburb, but I just thought the invention itself was a bit tacky. I mean, I think it *might* be funny for the first couple seconds, if at all, but I don't see much humor in a singing fish on a plaque. Maybe that's just me.
Well, if you're annoyed with him just as much as me, it's time to see him get beat up and shut up for once. :P

Child of the 80's
Even though I was a pretty sheltered kid growing up in the 80's, I still have many fun childhood memories and experiences with 80's culture. Here I am going to list a few toys I played with while I was growing up, some I owned, some I played with at friend's houses. If you were also and 80's kid, I'm sure you'll recognize some of these things. I would have listed music, games, tv shows, and clothing, but that would literally take me all day to remember. I think I'll talk about those in the future.
Toys
My Little Pony Rainbow Brite Pound Puppies Cabbage Patch Kids Garbage Pail Kids (cards) Strawberry Shortcake Smurfs (had a big stuffed smurf) Wuzzles Popples Watchables Lite Brite Armatron G. I. Joe action figures Barbie Care Bears Cherry Merry Muffin Slap Bracelets Viewmasters He-Man action figures Rubik's Magic Puzzle Perfection Nintendo Lottsaleggs Hit Stix Gloworm Operation and many many more...
After writing all this, it really makes me appreciate being born when I was born. I feel like if I was born in the 90's or was a child in the 90's, I would have missed out on the happier times of the 80's. I may have things all wrong since I only see it one way, but even though the 90's had its great high-tech developments and less tacky clothing, I think it was more fun when people could be more inventive because they had more limits. Nowadays, our entertainment and culture is ruled by huge impersional and unintuitive production companies. Things are too predictable, and we have become too spoiled to get surprised by anything.

While spending time on a new possible layout (as always) and halfway surfing, I came across a link from one ot the "elite" blogs out there. It's called the Post-It Theater which is pretty much what it sounds like -- animations made on Post-It pads. They're so cute, and they aren't computer generated. They're actually hand-drawn and then scanned. Wow. :)
And one thing about "elite" weblogs, I normally don't read them. I just happened to run across one today. Why don't I read them?
- they're way over my head - they only make me feel smaller - and i know if i keep reading them i'll want to start writing like them and become a wannabe of the weblog celebrity phenomena. i don't mind sticking with being my brainless and less witty self. At least I won't be pretending to be someone I'm not. NO, I'm not saying that they aren't being themselves. I'm saying that if I act like someone else, I'm not being myself.
I'm not going to list all the "elite" weblogs I know of because I know you'll be able to find them with such ease, and because it's still early and I feel lazy. As soon as I list for you which weblog I got this link from, you'll find links to more "elite" weblogs that link to more of them. It's kind of a closed circle in a way. A lot of those guys link to each other, so you'll see many of the same links when you visit different pages.
What I do read are usually blogs by friends or other people that I know from real life (elite weblogger or not) or have become acquainted with one way or another. To me, it matters more what they have to say than what someone I've never met. I also read blogs by people who have linked to me because I assume we might have something in common that caused them to link to me in the first place.
Ok, now it's time to Ctrl-A/Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V this so it doesn't possibly get eaten up by the Blogger god.
