Soccer Mom Pimps
SORRY if you find that title offensive, but that's one of the best ways I could describe it
Ever since that whole thing with the site Nay was going to model for, I've had my eyes opened to the whole new bizarre world of child exploitation...No, I'm not talking about the obviously demented world of pedophilia, I'm just talking about your typical suburban mother who takes so much pride in her daughter that she runs a website for her to promote her "modeling" pictures and videos.Stephy @ Giddy.nu brought to my attention a website called Jessithekid.com, and after going through a few pages of it, I'd have to say it makes that PlanetGirlCo crap look totally innocent. Hell, Molly-Model.com is a senior citizen compared to these kids. I'd let Jessi's site speak for itself, but it has bothered so much that I can't keep my mouth shut.

I took a look at the links page and found out she was not alone... there were a large handful of other sites of the same type of stuff...And just take a look at the banners... don't they *vaguely* resemble some of the million porn banners out there?!?!? 10-13 year old KIDS with amateur looking modeling galleries, pay memberships, and selling video tapes of them doing really innocent stuff like "making crafts" and just plain modeling videos -- but usually in full make-up and not very conservative looking clothing. Is this similar to the syndrome that some child beauty pageant mother's have? Or are these just housewive's with children that have found a new way to capitalize?
It really bugged me when I read Jessithekid's About page and the first rule by Jessi's mom states:
"IMPORTANT - Please treat my daughter with respect."
OH yeah... I'm sure most people are going to treat your little pre-teen daughter with the utmost respect while she's wearing a buttload of make-up and prancing around in skimpy costumes. Come on... I'm sure it's not a day to day thing for them, but from the way they present her, you'd have to come to the conclusion that something is just not right about the whole picture. If you're going to demand respect for your child, get rid of the Britney Spears wardrobe and let her dress like a normal 10 year old would. Yes, the way your children dress and act also reflect on the parents, so keep that in mind.
Another thing I don't get is why some of these sites have memberships you have to pay for. Have those mom's gone mad? I even saw one site that costs $25 a MONTH! Who on EARTH do you think is going to buy those memberships? Other kids with credit cards? Other moms and dads? Couples without children? Get real!! Haven't you heard of all those nasty rumors about creepy online perverts called pedophiles? Why don't they earn themselves a mother of the year award by protecting their daughters instead of pimping them online like this? For God's sake, are Jessi's parents so ignorant to not notice that on the alt.sex.passwords newsgroup, there were threads where people were asking for passwords to her member's section? Don't you find that SICK!?!! All I had to do was lookup the word "jessithekid" on Deja.com, a HUGE newsgroup archive, and I found her name mainly associated with scum-of-the-earth newsgroups. You'd better ask for all the respect you can get!

Other than perverts who buy the videos, how big of a demand do you think there is for tapes of children modeling or traveling the world? I didn't realize there was a market for watching 10 year olds on vacation... sheesh, have I been in the wrong business all this time?! Hell, I should be out there trying to have a daughter and make a small part-time business out of her. Really though, if were doing all of this just to get your daughter's modeling career started, isn't there a less tacky way of going about it?
In all seriousness, I could be dead wrong, and maybe it's just a big coincidence and a very common thing these days for moms to sell tapes and memberships for their Britney Spears influenced daughters. It's a whole new century, and a whole new millenium isn't it? I need to get with the times.
Perhaps these moms and daughters were merely inspired by the success that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have had, and want a crack at the jackpot. Maaaaaaybe...suuuuuuure. Or maybe they're just trying to live their life through their daughters by making them pseudo-celebrities.
I'm not blaming girls like these or their moms, but is it no wonder kids are starting to have sex and drink at much younger ages? If 10 year olds start seeing that in order to get attention and be more popular you have to have sex appeal, only naturally will they start maturing that way and become more curious about things that should happen later on in their teen years.
At first, I thought it was bad enough that some supposed modeling company was showcasing a bunch of seductive posing younger teenagers, but now knowing that moms do it to their own pre-adolescent daughters, my stomach wretches in disgust. I realize this whole genre of modeling does not personally interfere with my life, but it just makes me feel more concerned about our noticably decaying morals.
