Looking for the lyrics to that song in the Mitsubishi commercials? Here they are...I keep seeing people going to this page looking for them only to be disappointed... I was only griping about the lady in the commercial. :P
OOH LA LA
(Ron Wood, Ronnie Lane, 1973)
[vocals by Ronnie Lane]
Poor old Granddad I laughed at all his words
I thought he was a bitter man
He spoke of women's ways
They'll trap you, then they use you before you even know
For love is blind and you're far too kind
Don't ever let it show
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger.
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger.
The can-can such a pretty show
Will steal your heart away
But backstage back on earth again
The dressing rooms are grey
They come on strong and it ain't too long
For they make you feel a man
But love is blind and you soon will find
You're just a boy again
When you want her lips, you get her cheek
Makes you wonder where you are
If you want some more then she's fast asleep
you're just twinkling with the stars.
Poor young grandson, there's nothing I can say
You'll have to learn, just like me
And that's the hardest way, ooh la la
Ooh la la, la la, yeah
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger.
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger.

Lately
Well... let's see... what have I been doing lately? Other than Everquest, Chris and I have been spending time outdoors a little more. I'm really more of an "indoor girl" but I do have an open mind and I'm willing to face the outdoors every now and then. We've been going out onto the dock and feeding big plump catfish that we hope fishermen don't end up catching after we leave the dock... we've laid out in the sun and enjoyed the beautiful weather that we have had, we drove around the lake and took pictures with some toy cameras I have acquired... just very basic stuff that I never felt like doing when I was at work. I'm trying my best to make the most of every moment during this time off because I know that when I start working again, it'll be hard to relax like this for a while.
Commercials
New commercials are always popping up, and there are always about 30% that annoy me. Many commercials are local ones that seem to be demographically broadcasted (we don't have cable), and the rest seem to be mainstream commercials. Lately, these have been my least favorite commercials for one nitpicky thing or another...
1. Those darn Ford truck commercials (I don't think anyone but Oklahomans and Texans see these) where they show a bunch of guys dressed up like cowboys and hauling a bunch of heavy stuff and portraying trucks to be the ultimate macho machine. There are some Ford commercials down here with a jingle like "Ford and Texas go hand in hand, one time behind the wheel and you will understand"... and another jingle like "Ford is the best in Texas" ... now what makes me think that maybe Ford only advertises that heavily down here is because there are plenty of truck-drivin' folk down here, plus the word "Texas" seems to go better with those jingles. I don't think they'd ever have an equivalent motto for Ford like "Ford is the best in Rhode Island"
2. Dodge commercials.. just as annoying "Different by a country mile" ... again probably only down here in the Southern states
3. Those Capitol One commercials that seem to be ripping off of Gladiator. Oh.. and I can't stand the one where there is a couple in the car and the wife begans the commercial by listing a bunch of stuff (to the husband) "credit cards...money market... CD's..." I just don't like the way it sounds cuz I'm always hearing it in the background while I'm at the computer and it just gets repetitive because her voice sounds so tired.
4. This really sad local commercial where this guy in a crappy looking office is on the phone "making a sale" where he's selling computers for real cheap and then these two hoochie mama ladies act all shocked as though he was crazy for selling them cheap and they start hitting them with notepads... multiple times... I think one smack would have made the point... it just looked like bad acting. I'd be embarassed.
5. A Mitsubishi commercial where they have that "I wish that I knew what I know now... when I was younger (or however the lyrics go}" song where a lady starts singing along to it in her car while looking out the window... both Chris and I agree she looks goofy as crap. She looks kinda runway model-ish, but the way she looked just came out retarded.
6. I still hate ANY Clairol Herbal Essence commercial where they use the word URGE.
7. Any psychic reading commercial
8. Those Pillsbury commercials where they sing that really cheesy line "my heart to yours"... it's really dorky. "...and I'm baking BIG OL' biscuits"... do you guys in other states hear those versions of the commercials?
9. Payday loan ads, loan pre-approval lines and other commercials that play the sound of a phone dialing in the background... ACK!.. they must think people around here are poor or always strapped for cash
10. The 30 minute long Kia ads that claim that you can qualify for one of their wonderful cars no matter what credit you have.. or something like that.. I don't care.
11. The recent Home Depot commercials where a bunch of "everyday" people are proud that they can make their own home improvements like a pro.
12. Rooms-to-go commercials.
13. Ross commercials that have that annoying song..."there's always something new when you're... shop shoppin'... shoppin' at Ross!"
Okay... I'll stop there for now... time to go to bed again. Nighty nights.
