Well... I seriously thought I was feeling better, but I think I'm in worse condition now. I don't think it's life threatening, but I'm going to a doctor to have it checked out anyway. Enough about that anyhow...
I just wanted to say:
Even though there haven't really been an excessive amount of school shootings (though I believe even one is one too many), I really think that if it weren't for some of the school shootings that started happening a couple years ago, many of the recent school shootings would not have occurred. I think the fact that knowing other children had committed the crime, the gates were open for other children to do the same thing. Is it SUCH a coincidence that a few days after the shooting at Santana High School there was yet a new shooting today where one student in a Pennsylvania school was injured? Would this have happened if the shooting on Monday didn't?
Honestly, if it hadn't been for the media attention that previous school shootings got, I don't think there would have been as many "copy-cat" shootings in the following years. Would these shootings have occurred had these children never heard of such a thing as a school shooting before?
The thing is, it's important for the media to talk about school shootings to raise awareness. Pretty much they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
