Random Shiznit
I don't know what possessed me to see The Cell back when it came out, and even though I didn't like the actual movie, I was particularly attracted to the one scene where Jennifer Lopez was watching a really wicked looking cartoon on TV.
The cartoon was sooo strange and surreal and quite trippy to watch. I can't remember exactly what happened in it, but I had wondered if it came from an actual show or movie. I dug around on the net for a while trying to find out but gave up soon after.
Months later, I decided again to try to find out more about that cartoon, and sure enough that information had finally become available. The cartoon that Jennifer Lopez was watching was actually a clip of an old 1973 French animated science-fiction movie called La Plante Sauvage or "Fantastic Planet" in English. I did a little more digging and also came upon some clips from its soundtrack. The soundtrack is filled with ultra groovy downtempo guitar music that I actually ended up enjoying. If you're lucky, you might be able to find some mp3's of the soundtrack somewhere.

Now I just want to get my hands on the actual movie so I can watch the whole thing so it all makes sense.
Hrm.. on a sidenote: I get the feeling this is one of those movies that are drug films or cult classics that I should have already seen, and I'm going to hear it from someone. "You mean you haven't EVER seen it?!?!?" and then I'll feel like a total lameass. :9
