Are You Coulrophobic?
You might ask, what does coulrophobic mean? Coulrophobia is basically the proper term for the fear of clowns. I, like most people, am afraid of clowns. Yes, those freaky, smiling, evil looking bastards that are supposed to make children laugh, not cry!
I don't know all about the history of clowns, but I do know that a few movies and one book have played a big role in feeding into my phobia. A book by Stephen King called "IT" (which so happens to be one of my favorite books) is about a very evil creature who lurks around as a clown and kills children. There was a scene in Poltergeist where little Robby gets attacked by a freaky clown that was sitting on a chair at the end of his bed. That scene always made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack. Blah! Well, if you need a place to share your fear of clowns... IHateClowns.com and are great places to start.
